The "DAY" is Finally Over

We went to court yesterday and after some heated discussion with Joy, it was finally decided that Larry and Liza would regain full custody of Chloe. The papers are being filed with the Court and hopefully, this will be the end of this issue in their lives. They have really done well and have been clean for over 3 years now. I don't anticipate they will ever try drugs again. I praise God for his goodness and am so thankful that we don't have to worry about Chloe leaving again.

I pray that God will give us the strength, courage, wisdom and grace to raise this beautiful child in His Grace.

The Big "B"

First of all, I agree with Phil...who counts them? So I have 2.5 million or so...it's my computer and my bacteria. If you don't like it...stay away from MY computer. Evidently they don't hurt me and they are keeping me strong to fight off all of the other bacteria in the world. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

My Crayon Color

You are most like:

Black

You are bold with a dark side. You make clear lines wherever you go, though you color outside of the lines. Many people may just see the surface of you and think you are merely plain, but you have a lot of depth to you as well.

Take this quiz: Which Crayola Box of 8 Color Are You?

Kidism's

Well, it looks like many are adding "kidism's" so I will also.

Chloe, my granddaughter, is living with us and she has a very good vocabulary for being 5 years old, almost 6. She is very smart and not much gets by her.

The other day we were watching the weather man and she asked: "Grandma, how does the weather man know what the weather is going to be?". I told her I didn't know so she pondered this for a few minutes and then she said: "I know, God must tell them!"

Yesterday she said she was going to be enrolled in school tomorrow. I asked her how they did that and she got down on the floor and rolled across the floor and said that was how it was done.

We are all recovering from our illnesses. I was diagnosed as having "walking pneumonia" a week or so ago. Rx was an antibiotic that must have been made with gold extract. They cost $13.00 per pill (regular price). Thankfully, I have insurance and the Rx was only...$30.00. I don't know how people can afford to get sick. I have finished the 10 day supply and am feeling much better.

Larry has been coughing too. I think he has allergies and the dust and pollens flying around don't help at all. He said his is feeling better.

Where Has The Summer Gone

The trip to CA has come and gone...many miles, hot weather, good visits with family and a beautiful wedding for Christie & Roger at Disneyland. We started by going to Dave's for a welcome home/fond farewell party for Patrick. He just got home from Korea and is now back at his base and getting ready for a stint in Iraq. We wish him well and hope he returns home with no injuries or other problems.

We then left Dave's on Monday so Vern could keep his dental appointment in Denver. We got out of Denver about noon and made it to Grand Jct the first day. The second day we made it to Las Vegas...what a horrible town it has become. Way too much traffic, construction and people. (I guess I have gotten used to the small town atmosphere and less traffic). We went to a casino but didn't stay long. By the time we got back to the motel we were ready for bed so we had a cookie for dinner and then hit the sack. The next day, Wed, we made it to Sherry's. We didn't get lost...yeah. We had a really good visit with her and the rest of the family (She gets more grandkids every time we see her). They are all beautiful and each is so different with their own personalities and interests. All of the kids get along really well, which is a good thing.

The wedding was beautiful...I know, I'm repeating myself...anyway, Christie was gorgeous and Roger seems very nice. I hope they have a wonderful life together.

As the family were all planning on going to Disneyland on Sunday, Linda, Vern & I decided to head for home. We really are getting to be party poopers when it comes to amusement parks. Anyway, we got up early and made it to Grand Jct on Sunday (with a stop in Mesquite, NV for lunch and losing $2.00 in the slots). Linda even drove thru the mountains of UT. We got home on Tuesday, July 3. You know, there really is no place like home.

The best news this summer is that we are getting Chloe back. She has been living with her Aunt Joy and Uncle Chuck but they now feel that Larry & Liza are ready for her to be back with her parents. I agree and have really enjoyed her so far. She went back to Joy's for this last week, but Larry & Liza are going to get her tomorrow for good. Next week we will get her enrolled in school and they she will start on Aug. 23.

I've never raised a girl before but I don't think it will be too difficult. Chloe is a beautiful child and is really easy to be with. I love her dearly and hope we don't have too many problems.

Matt & Mason are doing ok. It has been a year since their lovely Jenny passed away and needless to say, it has been a difficult year for them. They are in Annapolis this week spending time with Dad Cimino. Matt had a business meeting there and decided to take Mason with him so she could get re-aquainted with G'pa Cimino, Aunt Toni, Uncle Steve C. and the rest of that side of the family.

Until next time...

Summer Has Arrived

The hot & windy weather has arrived. Praise the Lord that we have air conditioning...in both the house and car. The sprinkler system keeps the grass well watered even tho the wind tries to pull every bit of moisture out.

We are getting ready for our big road trip to CA. First we will go to Greeley for a good bye party for Patrick, David's youngest son. He will be shipped to Iraq around Thanksgiving. On Monday we will head west and I assume we will arrive at Sherry's sometime Wednesday or Thursday. The many hours in the car don't sound like a lot of fun, but Vern will help drive and Linda and I will attempt to solve the Soduko puzzles that we have gotten hooked on.

The trip should be fun.
